May Public Meeting: Dan Harrington and Larchmont Remembered
About this event
The Larchmont, a wooden side-wheel steamship, met its tragic fate on a freezing night off the coast of Block Island when it collided with the schooner Harry Knowlton. Join Daniel F. Harrington, Director of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame and Providence Journal columnist, for a captivating presentation on this infamous maritime disaster. Through restored photos and eyewitness accounts, you'll uncover the stories of the ship's crew and passengers, and the incredible tales of survival, panic, murder and miracles.
