How do I send email to the Pelagic group?
Enter the Pelagic Group email address (see above) into the Sender or To: field of any email app, web email page, or email client. The content of the subject field should be briefly worded such that any member can easily decide if the content might be important and relevant to their interests.

Why was my email/reply to the Pelagic Group rejected as “…unknown address…”?
Each email received from the Pelagic Group has a “No Reply” return (“From:”) address:
pelagic-noreply@yahoogroups.com
“No Reply” addresses are intentionally set as invalid return addresses, to cause automatic replies to be rejected by the Yahoo Group email server. This is a common “blog” practice.

Why does email from the Pelagic Group have “No Reply” return addresses?
“No Reply” addresses are intentionally set as invalid return addresses, to cause automatic replies to be rejected. This is meant to prevent extraneous content such as vacation notices, expired address notices, server timeout messages, etc. from being posted to the group and forwarded to all members.

How do I reply to a Pelagic Group post email?
Use any of the following methods:

  • Select “Reply” and replace the “No Reply” address in the To: field with the Pelagic Group email address: pelagic@yahoogroups.com
  • Copy/Paste content from the original email into a new email to the Pelagic Group as instructed above (see: How do I send email to the Pelagic Group?)
