The Blue Water Sailing Club is offering a very economical and extensive life raft and safety equipment course presented by Life Raft and Safety Equipment in Tiverton, RI. It will be conducted in groups of no more than 10 people.
The full-day course will include a review of safety equipment, emergency procedures, use of EPIRB’s, May-Day calls, and life raft deployment. Outdoor demonstrations will be conducted for both the use of flares and fire-fighting.
A second in-water segment of the course will be conducted at the Boys and Girls Club in Newport, RI. This will include instruction for the deployment and proper use of life rafts. Participants will don their foul weather gear and PFD’s, and enter the swimming pool with a deployed life raft. Righting and entering the raft will be practiced by all.
This will truly be a unique and low-cost, but extensive, safety training experience.
