Pelagic Goes to Community Boating May 19, 2012

Join your fellow Pelagians and members of Community Boating (CBI) for our Mercury sailboat race (formerly known as the Pelagic dinghy race) and barbeque. CBI is providing all the sailboats, equipment, race committee, instruction, race awards, and the barbeque in their expanded and updated facility Two persons per boat – come as skipper/crew team or as an individual to be paired up on the day of the race.

Community Boating serves the metropolitan Boston Community by enhancing the overall
quality of city life. The scope of the organization encompasses a diverse population. In
2009 they had 2,432 juniors, 3,250 adults, 417 universal access sailors, and 278 high
school sailors from over 30 towns and communities in the metropolitan Boston area. Many
of their members are residents of Boston and its surrounding neighborhoods. On the larger
scale though, thousands of people worldwide have learned how to sail at CBI. For

Your contribution of $35 per person covers the cost of all sailing activities, barbeque, as
well as a generous donation to the CB Program for Universal Access.

• 10:00 am – noon: Mercury Sailing Clinic limited to 20 attendees, reservation required
. It is not a requirement to attend the clinic to participate in the race.
• 12 noon – 1:00 pm Lunch (you are on your own – bag it or go out).
• 1:00 pm – Pre-race meeting, & on-water familiarization in the Mercurys.
• 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm Racing followed by short awards ceremony.
• 5:00 pm – 8:00 Barbeque.
